Final Boards

Changes VI

moved some elements and increased the width of the building for more usable area than the visible area... columns create some areas that are very specific in use
Dark wall to act like direct gain(thermal mass), and the stage has incline for seating now and door at base and stairs for back seating(stair view of the museum space is also encouraged)
the exterior of the building at right becomes the interior of the building at left... color and material addition to everything
lot of windows to south for heat gain... skylights all removed (leakage problem might occur due to snow there but the direct gain per area is higher there)

Changes V

Added all the structural supports and tested it out

Changes IV

Various Changes III

Checking the Area for confirmation and minor changes (the presence of columns had reduced the real usable area... so more changes)
I increased the size of the tail end of the building too for more area...

reduced the number of skylight (Guggenheim Museum had too much light problem according to the managers)

open view to the small area of the lake (sunset lighting.... realized there was a lot of light coming in)

The minor changes to save the space (gift shop storage for merchandise storing.. but.. might not be required so had to remove that in future design)

Various Changes II

More changes to accommodate the storage and preparation rooms

attempt to replicate aurora borealis' stratification

column with christian elements I've tried to add

column with viking elements I've tried to add
You can see rest rooms and the round lure of the audio/visual room

Back to the Main Design

Had to get rid of the sky lighting as there have been multiple problems with them in the past, and I will actually need to design it properly to be leak free(but since it snows there it is even harder).  For this extreme difficulty I decided against the sunlight leading the people through my building.

Further changes on next post, cause I'm on computer lab without any pictures to show.    :(

Snow Symposium

The snow symposium project was flashy and curvy.  The group gave the best effort but we don't know what the judges thought about our project so we don't know the expectations that were not met.  Still proud of the design that we set there.  I will put up the pictures next time if I can get the group members to send me some pictures.
